National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is kind of frustrating when
considering going to another state where you are not familiar with, the
culture, the people, their lifestyle but where I served was another
thing altogether. People do talk on how their service year is/was so
boring and that all they want is the year should run as fast as
possible but other
are like why now should it end. The whole four cardinal points -
Orientation, Place of Primary Assignment (PPA), Community Development
Service (CDS)/Secondary Assignment and Passing Out Parade/Winding up was
entertaining for me and the experienced I gained was enormous.
Talking
about the place i served is nothing to write home about if you have
been to Bayelsa State. Oh yes, Bayelsa State - The Glory Of All Lands,
where the orientation ground is Kaiama Grammar School, Kolokuma/Opokuma
LGA or simply call it KOLGA. No living body would wants to camp there
cause of the weather issue. Rain doesn't have season there, it always
rain cats and dogs everyday making the whole camp site MUDDY. But the
truth of the matter is that rain or no rain you must be on the camp
ground. And the soldiers there always would make it tough on you, yes
you because of those so-called rich parents' child. They tend to give
you hard training and drills including the Man O' War.
I believe this
is where i will stop for now. I have been typing since morning and my
fingers are killing me. Adios amigos. Till next time.
